5 Tips for Parents on How to Nurture a Reader
1. Read with your child and set aside a time for reading. Select a time for reading in your household and consistently "drop everything and read". Make reading a part of the daily routine. 2. Notice what interests your child, then help him/her find books about those things. 3. Praise your child's efforts and reading skills. 4. Check up on your child's progress. Listen to them read aloud, read what they write, and ask teachers how they're doing in school. 5. Be a reading role model. Let your children see you read, and share some interesting things with them that you have read about in books, newspapers, magazines, or e-readers. Copyright Brain Waves Instruction 2014 |
CONTACT INFORMATION: [email protected] OR message me on ClassDojo PARENTS: Below is the link to sign up for the Open Classroom provided by our team teachers where students may use the classroom laptops if internet or computer access is an issue at home, they need a quiet place to complete homework, or need some extra one-on-one help with their teacher(s). Students must sign up 24 hours in advance to ensure a teacher is prepared to stay after school with them. Please pick your child up promptly at 4:30 as teachers have after school responsibilities with their own families. Thank you!
